Donelli J. (Dan) DiMaria lives and works in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He is primarily an oil painter. Dan trained in classical art techniques at the "Reilly League of Artists" in White Plains, New York under the direction of Cesar Borgia (now deceased). After retiring from his career as a physicist eight years ago, Dan now works full time as professional artist.
Dan has shown in galleries across the US for the past 10 years and participated in seven museum shows over the past year. Articles about his paintings have appeared in "American Art Collector" and "American Artist". In 1998, his figurative work was showcased in "The Best of Portrait Painting" by North Light Books. In addition, he has participated in over 60 juried and 30 invited shows across the US including OPA, Academic Artists, International Guild of Realism, Salon International, American Artist's Proffesional League, Hudson Valley Art Association, Masterworks of New Mexico, and Allied Artists receiving many awards along the way. He has taught workshops on the "Reilly Drawing Technique" in the southwest US. He is currently teaching figurative drawing using the "Reilly Technique" at the Santa Fe School of Art in Santa Fe, NM and shows his work at Canyon Road Contemporary Fine Art also in Santa Fe, NM.
